Dr. Laura Tucker

Veterinary Surgeon

Dr Laura is a Bermudian who has worked at Ettrick Animal Hospital for 5years. As a veterinary student, Laura reinforced her formal training by working through her vacations at Ettrick animal hospital in various positions including reception, kennels and nursing.

She was educated in the UK and Bermuda before going to Grenada to study veterinary medicine at the US school of St. Georges University. Laura took the opportunity to travel and completed her degree in Perth, Australia at Murdoch University. She passed the North American Veterinary Licensing Exam in 2010. Following one of her pre grad courses in acupuncture, and subsequently treating a dog for severe back pain, she decided to study to become a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist. Dr Laura is also trained in laser therapy which can help to reduce pain from conditions such as arthritis and it can also promote healing after surgery. She finds that animals recovering from orthopedic surgery, especially benefit.

When not at work or studying Laura likes to go on long walks with her dogs. She also enjoys practicing obedience training with them and showing off all the tricks they have learned! When not with her dogs, Laura enjoys field hockey, boat trips and paddle boarding.
